My Trip To Salem, MA

Anybody who knows me knows I’m a huge fan of everything Horror. So when I knew I was going to be in Boston , I would have to spend a day and visit Salem. Its iconic because of the Salem Witch Trials and from what I hear is an eerie type of town. The weather was PERFECT to visit Salem, high of 65 degrees with a forecast and light drizzle. Even the Ferry ride to get there felt like a horror movie in the making. Something I found online that topped the list of things to do in Salem was visiting Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I went to take a visit into a “Monster Museum” but boy was it creepy. Laila, my girlfriend, and I entered the Museum with spooky music playing in the background, and a surprise greeting/meeting by Count Orlok himself, so I figure this was a good chance to ask some questions. Turn out his Museum is full of Sculptures from famous horror movies created by Hollywood Special Effect artists. Sculptures from the likes of Boris Karloff as Frankenstein Monster and Linda Blair from the Exorcists (A personal Favorite) haunt you as you walk by them. It houses anywhere from 30-50 sculptures and is always changing throughout the year. Below is Lailas best impersonation of the Gallery store front. So if you’re in Salem check this place out for sure. We spent the rest of the day walking around this little town and realizing we have to come back here for the month of October! Below are some photos taken on our trip, enjoy!

ABOUT THE ICLA DA SILVA FOUNDATION

The Icla da Silva Foundation, a nonprofit organization under section 501(c) 3 of the IRS Code, was established in June of 1992 after the death of Icla da Silva, a thirteen-year-old Brazilian girl who had leukemia. She died after intense efforts by her family, friends and neighbors to find a matching donor.

The mission of the Icla da Silva Foundation is to save lives by recruiting bone marrow donors and by providing support services to children and adults with leukemia and other diseases treatable by marrow transplants.
